Update on Figures! - Still Grinding On The Demo!
Heya! 9 DAYS LEFT!! Very light Kickstarter Update today!
So it turns out that our figures are going to be even bigger and better. We originally had set to do re-sculpts of 9-inch figures, but we’re going with a 3D print-and-mould instead of re-sculpting. This will allow us to add an extra inch to them, resulting in approximately 10 inch, 1/7 scale, Resin figures instead of 9, giving you more detail and more room for a solid paint job.
Also, we are now providing the option whether you want your figure pre-painted or not! It gives you room to do/have your own custom paint job on them if you desire, and considering since Esmy will have different palette shifts based on her equipped armor in the game (as you’ll see below), that gives you room to paint your favorite Elemental Esmy. We are now going to fine-tune these 3D sculpts to add some more detail and make them a bit more organic.
And again, this will be the only time to nab the figures, as they may be really hard to findin the future, considering where we’re going with the series/game. We may or may not have a little remaining in stock after this campaign, so if you want a figure of either of these two (or both), now is the time! Also, remember, the Bliss figure (Fashionista Pledge) comes with a copy of the game as well!
Still Working On Demo!
The demo work is still going strong! We pushed our personal deadline to March 10th to put some more fire under our butts to get it out! This will give us 2 weeks for bug testing and all before GDC and releasing to the media, and we would like our backers to be in on helping us out with that!
Right now we’re still adding damage attributes, putting in the HUD and clock, and working on Ghilcrest. And we’re going to get even an interior or two (or three) in the demo build so you can get a feel for that as well. Here’s the Cryatisium. Also, note that there are multiple Esmy palettes we’re playing around with. This is due to the Elemental Armor types you can select in the game, as her palette will shift. Kind of a homage to Megaman, but will serve as an elemental defensive purpose as well.
Just to show that we’re still hard at work here! Welcome all new backers! With close to one week left, let’s make it a blast! More to come soon! Thanks everyone, from the pit of our hearts!
On Viewpoints and Design
Alan here! Reeeeeally long nerdy game development rant over here folks.
A recent discussion about the direction of Cryamore’s backgrounds with Rob made me want to put up a post on how we’re handling things in regards to how the background & environment composition is going to appear.
Initially, Cryamore’s early screenshots fit more along the lines of Legend of Mana’s style where the backgrounds all had varying viewpoint angles; this definitely helped make environments feel more like a beautiful setpiece.
